Dear all,
Please help spreading the news that Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Uppsala recruiting two post docs to participate in our Vinnova (Sweden’s innovation agency) funded project that explores innovative ways to improve the CO2-withdrawal by forest management, while at the same time considering the wealth of other ecosystem services and biodiversity. We apply a cross disciplinary approach, and covers a broad range of topics and disciplines, including C flux measurements, biodiversity assessments, water quality, and life cycle assessments of both raw material and practices.
Position 1: Postdoctoral position - Nitrogen input, soil fungal community and stability of forest carbon stock.
We are looking for a person who can work on clarifying how fertilization influence stability of forest soil C stocks. More specifically the work address how disturbance (logging) influence stability of the soil C stock, if effects differs depending on past fertilization, and if stability can be linked to functional composition of the soil fungal community.

Position 2: Researcher/Postdoctoral position – Climate effects of forest- based biomaterial and bioenergy
We are looking for a person who can assess the climate impact of the production of biomaterials and bioenergy from forest systems. The work consists of modeling greenhouse gas balances from a system perspective using life cycle assessment (LCA). An important part of the work is to model biogenic carbon flows between soil, biomass, harvested wood products and atmosphere, and to calculate the climate effect when forest raw materials replace (substitute) other products in the society.
