Two PhD-scholarships on Forestry effects on biodiversity, carbon stocks and ecological processes in mature boreal forests

The EcoForest project (“Forestry effects on biodiversity, carbon stocks and ecological processes in mature boreal forests”) seeks to better understand the long-term effects of clear-cutting on forest biodiversity, carbon stocks, as well as ecological functions, in order to guide future forest management planning. The project involves partners from Norwegian University of Life Sciences, University of Oslo, Research Institutes (NIBIO and NINA), the forestry sector and NGOs. We are recruiting four PhD-students and two of these will be based at NMBU

The first will explore the importance of forestry for carbon stocks and dynamics?
