iDiv, the German Center for Integrative Biodiversity Research Halle-Jena-Leipzig, invites applications to several PhD positions for candidates having a strong background in biodiversity research and deep interest in interdisciplinary studies.

Doctoral researcher (f/m) in plant diversity under fertilization and exclusion of herbivory
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in environmental controls on local, regional and global patterns of biodiversity
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in species richness patterns along elevation gradients
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in systemic signalling in mycorrhizal and plant herbivore interactions
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in land governance on global land-cover and biodiversity change
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in improving alien species distribution by integrating data across scales
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in the field of biodiversity conservation
Doctoral researcher (f/m) in scale-dependence of determinants of rarity and diversity of xylobiont beetles

We seek highly motivated scientists with a strong background in biodiversity research and deep interest in interdisciplinary studies. German skills are not a prerequisite (apart from one position), good command of English is necessary. Applicants must hold a masters (or equivalent) degree.

Applications are accepted via our application portal under apply.idiv.de. Applicants can apply to up to three positions, with tailored motivation letter for each position. Submission deadline is Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Selected candidates will be invited to the joint recruitment symposium on June 22-23, 2017.
