Subject: Job opportunity: Copy-editor/proofreader at Oikos Editorial Office
The Oikos Editorial Office produces and manage a set of internationally renowned journals: Ecography, Journal of Avian Biology, Nordic Journal of Botany, Oikos and Wildlife Biology. A major undertaking is to copy-edit manuscripts for typesetting, consider proof-corrections from authors and proof-read papers prior to publication. All papers are published in English.
We are now recruiting additional part-time staff for copy-editing and proof-reading of manuscripts.
The position includes tasks such as:
- Copy-editing of manuscripts
- proof-reading
- communication with authors, typesetter and publisher
- the position may also include other tasks at the Editorial Office.
We expect you to have the following qualifications:
- Education in biology/ecology, a PhD is a merit
- previous experience in copy editing/proof reading is a merit, but not a requirement
- being meticulous
- experience in publishing and being familiar in the process of scientific publishing
- proficiency in English, English as mother-tongue is a merit.
- a general interest in language and phrasing.
The Oikos Editorial Office is based at Lund University, Sweden, but the work can be fulfilled from a remote office.
The position is 40% of full time and initially until 2022-06-30.
Salary according to agreement.
