Inauguration of the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure, October 4–7, 2021

Welcome to the launch of the new Swedish biodiversity platform!

Welcome to the inauguration week of the Swedish Biodiversity Data Infrastructure starting on Monday October 4, 2021. We will introduce you to the new national platform for biodiversity and ecosystem research. Whether you are a researcher or a practitioner the platform will efficiently assist you in submitting, retrieving, using and analyzing biodiversity data.

During the online inauguration ceremony on Monday, we give a brief overview of SBDI, and the platform is placed in an international perspective by keynote speakers Alexandre Antonelli, Director of Science, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and Donald Hobern, Executive Secretary, International Consortium for the Barcoding of Life (iBOL). SBDI will be officially inaugurated by Maria Thuveson, Executive Director at the Swedish Research Council and Head of the Swedish GBIF Delegation.

The inauguration on Monday will be followed by three webinars Tuesday–Thursday showcasing key functionality for biodiversity and ecosystem research. We will also explain our plans for future development, and invite you to discuss with us how we can develop our digital services further to support research on biodiversity and ecosystems.

Join us during the SBDI inauguration week and learn how to make use of the largest collection of freely available biodiversity data in Sweden! Registration is required (see links above) but all events are open to everyone, so feel free to forward this invitation.

Welcome!
