GDPR

Dear Swedish Society Oikos member,

Although I’m sure you’re tired of getting messages like this, in light of the new regulations on data management in the EU (GDPR), the society would like to clarify what sort of personal data we keep and what it is used for.

The membership database includes information on your name, institutional address (or home address if no institutional address is supplied), email address, and when you most recently paid your membership fee. Home address information, where applicable, is obtained from the bank statement accompanying your membership payment.

This information is used for the sole purpose of keeping track of members’ contact information, and is never communicated to any outside organization or commercial firm. Should you like to have your personal information removed from the membership database, please contact me to let me know.

Regards,

Jessica Abbott, Secretary/treasurer for the Swedish Society Oikos
