Lektor i miljövetenskap med inriktning mot Östersjöns ekologi

Arbetsuppgifter

Som lektor i miljövetenskap ingår i första hand undervisning i och ansvar för miljövetenskapliga kurser på Miljö- och utvecklingsprogrammet som innehåller moment av ekologi, zoologi, botanik, evolution samt experimentdesign och statistik. Stora delar av undervisningen genomförs som fältundervisning och laborationer. Innehavaren av anställningen förväntas även kunna utföra och ansvara för undervisning inom naturvetenskap på lärarutbildningen.

Undervisning kommer att ske på svenska och engelska.

Under de första två åren ingår minst 20 procent forskningstid i anställningen. Därefter kan forskning ingå under förutsättning att erforderliga medel erhålls.

PhD position in Animal Ecology

Dear all, 

 

We are looking for a PhD-student in Animal Ecology.  The project will focus on hybridisation between two closely related species. Particular focus will be on the common bream and the white bream (Abramis sp.), two closely related freshwater fish species that currently hybridize to some extent and that run the risk of collapsing into a single unit (gene-pool). The PhD project will contain a range of approaches including genetic studies, field and lab experiments and mathematical modelling. A major aim will be to derive a risk analysis for loss of biodiversity in Swedish freshwater lakes.

The project is a collaboration between Richard Svanbäck (richard.svanback@ebc.uu.se) och Nicklas Backström (niclas.backstrom@ebc.uu.se) at Uppsala University and Åke Brännström at Umeå University (ake.brannstrom@umu.se)

Vetenskapsrådet har finansierad Svenska LifeWatch (SLW) och Analysportalen sedan 2010. VR beslutade 2018 att Analysportalen skulle upphöra inom några år men att Analysportalens funktionaliteter flyttas till en ny biodiversitets-dataportal för att främja och förenkla internationellt samarbete. Den nya dataportalen kommer att drivas av Svensk biodiversitetsdatainfrastruktur (SBDI) – en ny gemensam plattform som tillhandahåller data och analystjänster för forskning och undersökningar om biodiversitet och ekosystemtjänster. Det är Svenska LifeWatch och Biodiversity Atlas Sweden som går samman för att bilda SBDI (https://biodiversitydata.se/)

We are conducting a survey to find out how you use the Analysis Portal to access, explore and analyse biodiversity data provided through the Swedish LifeWatch e-infrastructure.

The Swedish Research Council (VR) has funded Swedish LifeWatch SLW and the Analysis Portal since 2010. In 2018 SLW was tasked by VR to discontinue the Analysis Portal in a couple of years and move the Analysis Portal functionality to a new biodiversity data portal to simplify international cooperation. The new biodiversity data portal will be operated by the new joint Swedish Biodiversity data Infrastructure (SBDI), which will be formed by the merging of Swedish LifeWatch (SLW) and Biodiversity Atlas Sweden (BAS). 

We now wish to take advantage of your experiences and preferences as users of the Analysis Portal to know how we can continue to provide you with a tool that fulfils your needs to search for, visualise, analyse and retrieve biodiversity data. 

We hope that you want to participate in the survey and help us by sharing your experiences about the tools you use or deem useful.
